I really recommend this book because it is pretty easy to read, it comes with 3 different stories not just legends of the fall and the writer uses simple words. I bought this book because i want to know the real story behind the movie legends of the fall. If you like the movie, then you should definitely read the book and picture a different ending.

This book is very helpful because when someone helps me in Algebra 2, they can read me the problem out of book then I can work it out and they can tell me whether my answer is right or not or else it would take a much longer period of time because they would have to work out the problem and then tell me the answer and it may be wrong. Tremendous help in France!

I carried this around when traveling alone in France, and it proved invaluable. I spoke literally no French when I left, but 2-3 hours of studying with this on the ferry enabled me to get around in France without any major snafus. The organization by topic was excellent. I typically paused outside a restaurant or hostel and looked up how to order what I wanted or ask if my room was ready. For that purpose, it was perfect.

This book is not meant to be a comprehensive resource, and there are inevitably words left out. If you're staying longer than a few days, a small dictionary or a smartphone language app would be a good supplement but could not replace the usability of good phrasebook.

I will definitely turn to Frommer's for my future travels - highly recommended.

Lack of Usefulness in real world situations

I bought this book in order to carry in my bag. I am now in Paris for 14 days. It is small and easy to put in a nook without getting in the way. In addition, it is fun to read like a book, at night close to bedtime or while enjoying tea. You might even get one of the epiphanies and say "ahh" that is what that means....

That, I am afraid is the end of its usefulness. It is not very good for quick reference or EASE OF USE. The index is bewildering and on four different occassions both my wife and I threw up our hands and used another resource because we couldn't find anything in the index or the book. It is poorly organized and not really made for on the run, need it now, travel use. Sadly, it is now in our main suitcase, no longer in my carry with me bag.
