Worked for me
By sleeping butterfly
I was interested in getting the original material in one book and this book did that. I applied the program and found it to be successful. I can read books and labels now where before I used reading glasses at 175-200 strength. I haven't been doing the exercises daily now but my eyesight is still good. I believe that relaxing the eye is the key for me. I have trouble with the computer because of a scar on the cornea of my left eye otherwise I would be free of glasses.

GREAT SELLER- HORRIBLE BOOK

GREAT SELLER- HORRIBLE BOOK- needed it for classes. Rating is only 5 stars since I don't want to hurt the rating of the seller who was great to deal with- I highly recommend the seller. Otherwise it would have been less than one star if possible.

The author, Bohr, has no clue and disparages what he doesn't understand as far as the pre-Vat II Thomistic manualists. Here is a great article that explains why Bohr's position is boorish. http://edwardfeser.blogspot.com/2010/03/scholastics-bookshelf-part-iii.html
One questions if Bohr ever read some of the works he criticizes and understood them.You can't really critique something you do not understand. Setting up a strawman to attack and giving it the name of your opponent isn't an intellectual engagement. Its just preening one's vanity and trying to impress others by attacking the reputation of others by refusing to engage in their thought. Aside from that aspect he has no clue on other basic issues of church history and the development of doctrine but that alone is enough to indicate his level of scholarship on the issue of moral theology. Having said that the professor of the class is nice- I'm just not a fan of the fallacious arguments presented in Bohr's book. This is not intended to be a personal attack on the author but only on some of the positions he puts forth in the book which are deficient.

Rediscovery of the riches in Catholic Moral Tradition

The author, rector of Pius X Seminary in Dalton, Pennsylvania, and teacher of Moral Theology at the University of Scranton, intends to give an introduction into Catholic Moral Theology as it presents itself today in relation to the richness of Tradition. He lays fundament not in impersonal laws but in the loving relation of the redeemed person in Christ towards the Holy Trinity and the Body of Christ, the Church. David Bohr pleads for a rediscovery of symbolic consciousness in prayer and worship, and also in theological thinking and research. This also seems to be the best way for an approach to Scripture and Tradition, under the guidance of the Magisterium of the Church. Such moral theology is integrating all the right insights of theological thinkers, whatever theological directions they represent, for: "No one of us totally comprehends the truth, but we can all aid one another in coming to understand it more fully." (Preface, p. 17). The book consists of three main parts: After an analysis of "Beginnings and Background" (pp. 41-78: with "Biblical Foundations" and "Historical Perspectives"), there follows an investigation on "Fundamental Elements" of Moral Theology (pp. 79-234), and it concludes with "Special Questions" (pp. 235-360). Such fundamental elements are a view on "Christian Anthropology: The person 'In Christ'", "Conversion" and "Discipleship: Faith-Response in Love and Hope", "The Law of Christ", "Conscience and Its Formation", and at last, "Virtue, Sin, and the Human Act: Living As a Responsible Person". Special questions are dealt with exemplary and concern "Sexual Ethics", "Bioethics" and "Catholic Social Teaching". In a interesting approach this useful work proves itself as a help for those who begin their studies as "for the expert seeking an overview of the Church's moral teaching" (Foreword, 14).

Stunning, staggering tale of survival

The Hundred-Year Walk: An Armenian Odyssey(Spoiler alert) The number of times reporter and writer Dawn Anahid MacKeen’s maternal grandfather Stepan Miskjian escaped death during World War I at the hands of the Ottoman Turks is mind boggling. This is a graphic, disturbing, but ultimately redemptive account of one very resourceful man’s survival during the first genocide of the 20th century—when the ruling pashas set out to exterminate Turkey’s large ethnic Armenian population.

MacKeen alternates Stepan’s story with her own experiences in 2007 retracing his steps. His diaries in hand, she traveled from his hometown of Adabazar outside Constantinople, all the way to the killing fields of Deir El Zor in present-day Syria, where the surviving Armenians were mercilessly slaughtered. Ironically, this region is now in the hands of the so-called Islamic State.

The author manages to turn an unbearable subject into a page-turner. With each chapter you wonder how the 5-foot 4-inch Stepan will slip away from his captors—armed, saber-wielding gendarmes on horseback—and evade being swept back into the massive deportation of Turkey’s Armenian population.

MacKeen’s clean, spare reporting style is dispassionate but descriptive. We are transported to that place and time. We see what Stepan saw and survive the horrors alongside him. He is resourceful, intelligent, generous and scrupulously honest throughout his ordeal, while many around him are not. We root for the diminuitive hero throughout. My only regret is that MacKeen does not offer the reader even more about her own experiences and travels retracing her grandfather’s steps.

Ultimately, Stepan survives the killings thanks to a Bedouin sheik who shelters and employs him, and other Armenians, for the remainder of the war.

In one chapter, MacKeen recounts how—with Assad’s secret police tracking her every move—she finds the sheik’s descendants and is able to thank them. They warmly welcome her and hold a feast in her honor. Sadly, the region today is being visited by fresh horror that is threatening the lives and livelihoods of her grandfather’s saviors.

Stepan, himself, is compelled to bear witness to all that he saw, even after emigrating to the United States, a land he loved and where he found security and financial success. He remained haunted by memories. Surely his journals helped exorcise them, yet he speaks repeatedly of his experiences to his wife and daughters, including Dawn’s mother Anahid.

But, without the stories and without the diaries, MacKeen’s mother would never have pleaded with her reporter daughter to “tell Baba’s story.” I’m glad that she did.

Memorable Story of One Man's Experience During the Armenian Genocide

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Having a friend of mine who is Armenian, I have talked to him about the Armenian genocide and hade a little bit of background information. The information I took away from this book, and the experience of Stepan Miskjian, was profound.

Stepan Miskjian was a young Armenian man, living in Turkish Armenia in 1913 when his whole world turned upside down. His story, which he wrote down in journals, was kept hidden and lost in his own family for nearly 100, until they were discovered by his daughter and his granddaughter. After translating his words, his granddaughter - Dawn Anahid McKeen - embarks on a journey to retrace her grandfather's steps, to tell his story of the Armenian genocide and of his survival.

The book is written between 2 worlds, essentially - Stepan's and his granddaughter's, Dawn. Through their words, the plight of the Turkish Armenians come to life vividly. This book does not read as "non-fiction" at all. This reads as an adventure story - until one realizes the death count is all too real.

This book makes me wish I could have met Stepan Miskjian, but, in a way, I think I already have, and I feel honored to have been allowed to have shared in his life!

A Harrowing Acount

This is not a book for the faint of heart. The death and destruction wrought upon the Armenians during World War I is heart rendering. There is no motive on this earth that would have justified this genocide. As I read, I was alternately cheering for Stepan and Dawn on their separate journeys. For Stepan to have survived is as close to a miracle as one will get. I was not so much interested in style as I was the story. I liked the way the author juxtaposed the two because it gave you a sense of the past and the present political/cultural environments. I was enlightened by this novel having heard little concerning the Armenian’s plight. This was a story that needed to be told.

This time out, Dailey (Aspen Gold, etc.)--sets her dynasty- feudin' romance in the wine-growing country of California. But after the start--a TV anchorwoman in New York has a terrifying childhood flashback, and threats fly in Napa Valley--it's all on automatic pilot. On the Rutledge estate--a class winery run by a proud, cane- stumping ancient, 90-year-old Katherine Rutledge--some plans to merge with a French winery are fermenting. In the meantime, Katherine has never set much store by taciturn grandson Sam, and Gilbert, Katherine's surviving son, hates his mother so much that, along with his son Clay, he's established his own excellent winery down the road. Also growling around the vines is ne'er-do-well drunkard Len Dougherty, owner of ten acres of Rutledge vineyard that were given to him after the job-related death of his father. Len has one daughter--none other than the East coast anchorwoman now known as Kelly Douglas. Kelly won't give her dad a dime--not after a childhood of abuse--but now Len needs money and so offers his services to Gilbert, who would love to muck up the French deal for Mom. Eventually, Kelly will be forced to return to home territory to cover the merger story--but before the happy close, there'll be a murder, an old scandal uncorked, a confrontation between Kelly and Len, and (of course) romance. It's all here: the still-handsome dynasty head, sharp as a tack at 90; head-butting family rows; and just enough about that wine biz for a fleeting infusion of reality. Janet Dailey, who passed away in 2013, was born Janet Haradon in 1944 in Storm Lake, Iowa. She attended secretarial school in Omaha, Nebraska, before meeting her husband, Bill. The two worked together in construction and land development until they “retired” to travel throughout the United States, inspiring Janet to write the Americana series of romances, setting a novel in every state of the Union. In 1974, Janet Dailey was the first American author to write for Harlequin. Her first novel was No Quarter Asked. She has gone on to write approximately ninety novels, twenty-one of which have appeared on the New York Times bestseller list. She won many awards and accolades for her work, appearing widely on radio and television. Reading for down time at a winery or vineyard

I know I read some poor reviews of this book on this same site but I am in the wine industry and Janet Dailey did her homework. Some said she took too long to get into the story. Believe me they di not finish the book or they would have know how important all the leading information was. Of course, this is just my opinion.

After reading 'Masquerade" and loving every page I had hoped the same for "Tangled Vines". Was I ever disappointed! This was one BORING book! If anyone has trouble sleeping, I suggest you give this a try, it might be good for something....

Biological fluid dynamics - first of its kind

A honest truth is that, to can understand the concept in this book, you must need the help of an expert like your professor or TA. The material is hard to follow, many of the proofs are incomplete/ or lack adequate steps. The assumptions are not explicity made, which will lead you to ponder on one problem for many hours.

But the book has a very nice mixture of engineering concepts (fluid dynamics) and its biological relavance, the first of its kind. Although conceptiouly it is very hard, the mathematical models presented are phenomenal and are presented with great care. To be sucessfully in the course, you must need a good balance in both attending the lectures as well as reading the book.

Fluid Mechanics

This book is very vague in some of the proofs that it contains, however if you have a good understanding of differential equations and some thermodynamics it is fairly easy to follow along, it does make a lot of assumptions that it doesnt explain, so there will be times when you are left scratching your head about a statement they have made, would be nice if it included an index to reference material within the book, i have found it useful in my work (biochemical engineering), however it is not a book i would recommend buying unless you have a working knowledge of the area or someone who does to help you

Crothers makes excellent use of examples to clarify points and foster critical thought on the major issues surrounding globalization. Some chapters feels a bit repetitive, but most are easy to understand. Overall, it makes for a great sociology textbook.

The problem with writing about New World Order topic books is that covering too much detail on one aspect and you lose the bigger picture, and covering the entire scope of all the many inter-connected organizations means you have to leave out enough detail to convince you that their plans are a real danger to you personally. "Hope of the Wicked" probably strikes the best balance I've seen, while "the Planned Destruction of America" is more of a narrow and concise introductory work. "Illuminati Unmasked" at 800 pages has more pages than those other 2 combined and although it does not cover as many organizations as "Hope of the Wicked" it does cover what it considers the primary controlling organization of all the others and goes into lots of details to make that connection with lots of footnotes. The primary advantage of "Illuminati Unmasked" is its on current events and people in power now like Obama and Putin. A plus or minus is that all of the footnotes reference websites which means the links could become outdated soon, but at least you can immediately check the source online yourself for free (although the online sources could reference books...).

CONS:
No index, but good Table of Contents with specific small chapters.
No "Agenda 21", too quick of dismissal of "The Protocols" book which ironic given the current genetic destruction of the native peoples of Sweden, and soon to be Germany, etc via massive uncontrolled immigration and the media control.

Thoroughly Researched and Vetted, Illuminati Unmasked Delivers a Knock-out Punch to the Heart and Soul of People The World Over

I had the pleasure of reading a review copy of this book recently. It was thoroughly researched and vetted by Mr. Cirucci, who is clearly very passionate about the subject of who runs the business of freedom and liberty on our planet. He has seen many of the ills he reports on first hand, both as a civilian and member of our US military.

Most of the facts in Illuminati Unmasked will shock and anger you. Please do not stop reading because his reporting goes against everything you have been taught and believe in. While his passion sometimes overshadows the history, he is dead-on and his important book deserves a world-wide audience. If we do not read seminal works like Illuminati Unmasked, these issues that affect us all will dissolve into the ether.

I also suggest reading William Garner's book Who Really Owns Your Gold: How The Jesuits Use Gold Economics To Control Humanity. Both books have extensive resources and references for the intrepid explorer in you. If you just take the time to read and explore, you will discover for yourself how the Jesuits have controlled our planet for nearly 500 years.

If you choose to place these books in the "conspiracy theory" category, you would be 100% wrong.

Mr. Cirucci is a new breed of historian who is unafraid to tackle the most contentious of issues today. Illuminati Unmasked proves my point exactly. Good on ya, Mr. Cirucci, and thank you for your courage and diligence.

This book was disappointing...ONLY because it took me so long to DISCOVER IT!

Have increasingly become interested in what and who is behind the illogical geopolitical events that are happening before my eyes. Up is down, left is right, right is wrong, good is bad. Surely anyone reading my last sentence will agree. The world is irrational in its standard operating procedure. I'm no conspiracy theorist. I'd peg myself as a Constitutional Conservative. Instead of "Make America Great Again", I just want some powerful force to "Make America Again."

But anyway. Stumbled across this book. Started to peel back the layers of the onion. Initially I was like, "Jeepers...800 pages. Well, this is going to be a labor of love."

Five days later I finished the book and immediately downloaded every one of Johnny Cirucci's 65 podcasts (Resistance Rising) and have been on a binge ever since. This man has nailed it. I won't spoil the book...just know he NAILED it. Buy it. Consume it. Get pissed off about it. What you think is, isn't. What you think isn't, is. But whatever side of the argument you reside, this book will stretch your sensibilities.

And I will tell you. There is one fundamental belief of which Johnny Cirucci greatly challenged me (as the reader/listener). At first I was like, "Come on. Really?! I just invested five days and 800 pages of my life and you had to discredit it all by telling me that you believe in ___________!"

I was pissed off, genuinely. But then I decided, "Okay, you seem like an uber-smart author, I'll follow the bread crumbs."

And I did.

And once I gave myself permission to abandon my predispositions, my operating reality has changed. "Whoa! Whoa, whoa, whoa!"

Now I have an insatiable appetite for the rabbit hole he just sent me down. I have a sneaky suspicion that his next book will be to expand on it.

Goodness, what a breath of fresh air this author is.

Buy this book...do not hesitate.

Life changing. Truly. The glasses of my worldview will certainly never be the same.
